LIA Laboratories receives certification to ISO/IEC 17065
LIA Laboratories Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Lighting Industry Association, has been accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to ISO/IEC 17065 “General requirements for the competence for product certification”, the main ISO standard used for certifying a products safety and performance.
As the leading dedicated Laboratories for lighting, this high level independent certification provides a cradle to grave service for the industry.
Providing its manufacturer customers with the peace of mind of a fully accredited testing, verification and certification service. This means that specifiers, installers, suppliers and users of LIA Lab certified lighting products can be confident these products will deliver the stated safety and performance.
The LIA Laboratories are the U.K.’s largest independent test laboratory with over 20 years’ experience in testing lighting products and the largest scope of UKAS accreditations for lighting and supporting products in the UK and is the UK Government appointed Notified Body under the Low Voltage Directive.
With accurate data provided by the scheme you can ensure conformance with legislation, quality control and the support of product marketing claims – what’s more, your customers can be assured that the quality of our testing acts as a verification that the product in the box does exactly what it says on the box.

The LIA Lab Verified scheme operates in partnership with the Energy Saving Trust so that compliant products can be marked with both the LIA Lab and EST brand marks.
The LIA Laboratories also offers a Registered Photometric Laboratories Scheme for both Far Field Photometers and Photometric Spheres to provide assurance of the validity of manufacturers’ photometric data.
